Kurdi received her bachelor degree in Microbiology in November, 2009, with ‘Very Good Second Honours’. Since then she has had one year of work experience at King Fahad Hospital in the departments of histology, blood bank, microbiology, chemistry, hormology and phlebotomy as well as a four month internship at the women’s hospital in Medina, Saudi Arabia. She was the recipient of a scholarship from the King Abdullah Program in 2011. She has also received a certificate in how to identify and manage risk from BusinessSA, South Australia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry in September, 2014.  Additionally, Kurdi has a certificate from Saudi Student Association in Adelaide for her invaluable volunteer efforts as a teacher of Arabic language in Saudi Educational Centre in Adelaide. Kurdi finished the first year (course work) in Masters of Biotechnology at Flinders University in 2014 and she is interested in doing her research on ‘The Rapid Identification of Microbes on Hospital Surfaces’ for the coming year.
